Tyrone is an 18-hole course
that is enjoyable for all and
challenging enough for the seasoned golfer. The par
72 course is 6,363 yards
if played from the tips and boasts a 70.3
rating and a 123 slope with a liberal number of
raised tees and greens to keep your interest.
The course is kept in great
condition throughout the summer and is a fun and challenging
golf experience.
Tyrone always has fast greens with gently
undulating surfaces that hide the true roll of the
ball, so expect a challenge on the green. Fairways are wide
or narrow and reflect the Matthews concept of
design. Each fairway ends in a nicely
managed landing area which will demand a good chip to be
on in regulation.
Designed
in 1961 by W. Bruce Matthews III, ASGCA, Tyrone Hills
shares its lineage with other beautiful and
challenging courses throughout Michigan and the
United States. All Matthews courses use natural
environments to create an outdoor experience not
often found on other courses. Tyrone relies on
wildlife, water, trees, traps, hazards and good pin
placement to enhance your golfing skills while
offering an enjoyable time for novice players. Open
from Late March through October, Tyrone Hills is a great golfing experience and one that is
well worth the drive. |
